What deluxe resort would you recommend for a family of 4 (two little ones under 6)? We value proximity to parks, transportation options, and overall ambiance! Since we're with little ones, we prioritize "fun" over "luxury" vibes.

Hey there, Greg! I'm so happy to have you here at planDisney with your question.

Greg, as a Mama who has been traveling to Walt Disney World with my boys since they were both babies (they are now 10 and 11), this question is near and dear to my heart! When my kids were preschoolers our Disney vacations looked a bit different (early mornings and mid-day naps) than they do now so let's dive into some of my favorite resorts for younger kids.

In no particular order, these four deluxe resorts top my list for convenience, kid-friendly ambiance, and great onsite dining options:

         - Disney's Beach Club Resort
My favorite things about this resort are the sand-bottom pool, the outside ice cream window at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, and of course, the convenient walking path to EPCOT, and while a longer, Disney's Hollywood Studios.

         - Disney's BoardWalk Inn
My favorite things about this resort include the quick dining choices available outside (my family and I can all order from different windows, but eat together on the BoardWalk), the walking path to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Mickey and friends themed slide at the pool!

         - Disney's Contemporary Resort
My favorite things about this resort are the convenient walking path to Magic Kingdom Park, the monorail, and great dining options including the Contempo Café, the quick-service stop with great views of the monorail and an onsite character meal: Chef Mickey's.

         - Disney's Wilderness Lodge
My favorite things about this resort include the boat ride to Magic Kingdom Park (it's like an additional attraction), the overall grounds, and rustic charm and Geyser Point Bar & Grill (an outdoor dining option that has great food and better views, but is still kid-friendly). You'll also be able to request a scavenger hunt from the front desk to discover more about this resort!

Greg, wherever you choose to stay, I know that you'll have a Magical trip with your little Mouseketeers. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney. We are happier than Olaf in the summer sun to help a returning guest!

Greetings from central Pennsylvania! Hi, I’m Lauren and I can’t wait to answer all of your Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club questions. My husband and I became Disney Vacation Club Members because we love visiting the Disney Parks and with hectic day-to-day schedules, wanted to prioritize time away for our family. The options at the Walt Disney World Resort make each trip unique and I am excited to help other families build vacations with those unforgettable moments.
