We have had the deluxe meal plan in the past and feel it is too much food. But, the regular dining plan with 1 table service, 1 quick and 1 snack won't be enough either. Is there a dining option in between those 2 plans?

    Hi Emily,

There is not a meal plan that offers more than the Disney Dining Plan but less than the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan.

Many guests find that the regular Disney Dining Plan gives them plenty of options. Remember, that you can use a snack credit to make a meal. A bowl of soup from Pinocchio's Village Haus in the Magic Kingdom can be purchased with a snack credit and can function as a small meal. Or purchase a cinnamon roll for breakfast utilizing a snack credit.

You could also pay out-of-pocket for a second counter-service meal and/or snack. This is significantly less expensive than the Deluxe Dining Plan.

Another way to optimize your dining plan is to have a small pastry or fruit in the morning, then a late breakfast that serves as a "brunch". You can then purchase a snack to tide the family over until your quick-service dinner. Some snacks can be shared so that you have extra snack credits for use later in the day or the following day!

I agree that the Deluxe plan is way too much food. In fact, in order to get your money's worth out of the plan, you would need to spend a lot of your touring time eating at table-service restaurants. The regular plan allows you to enjoy one table-service meal per day which is plenty of sit-down restaurant time for most families.

I would look at some menus and estimate your food costs. Utilize your Disney Dining Plan credits at restaurants that offer the more expensive entrees. Then pay out-of-pocket for more snacks and/or a second counter-service meal.

If I can help further so that you make the most of your vacation dollars and Disney Dining Plan credits, just let me know.

Enjoy a wonderful return visit to WDW!
