We have the deluxe dining plan-so all of our meals are paid for so how much should I tip? will the receipt show the value of the meal? what about at buffets? I know 15 % if what we normally tip. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Laura,

On the dining plan, your server will bring you a receipt to sign.  It will show an itemized list of your meal items, much like a receipt you would find if you were paying cash for your meal.  You will be able to see what the meal would have cost you, so you can tip accordingly.  In general, our family tips the servers the same amount at buffets as we do at full service restaurants.

15 percent is a good, standard tip.  Although if you feel your server offered exceptional service, a higher tip is always appreciated.

    Hope this helps.

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
