We will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan and I have a question about tipping at full service restaurants - can we use our Magic Bands to tip and then pay off our balance later at the hotel front desk, or do we need to have cash or a credit card for tips?

    Hi, Laura!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you so much for bringing us another vacation planning question.

When using your Disney Dining Plan entitlements to "pay" for your meal, you are absolutely able to use your MagicBand to process your gratuity and any additional items purchased not covered by the dining plan, like adult beverages. In fact, I recommend this route for convenience. The only thing you will need to do is to make sure your MagicBand is activated for charging privileges; this will require you to have a credit card on file.

You may stop by the front desk of your resort hotel at any time to pay down your balance with cash, credit cards, or gift cards - just make sure you do this the night prior to check-out or all charges will automatically be billed to the credit card on file for your account.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions, Laura. I am here to help!
