I have the Delux DP. Is a quick service place like Mara in AKR or the QS places at TL and BB water parks considered a meal or a snack? I have reservations for CRT and looking at Hoop De Do, MIck BBQ and Jiko and running out of meals as possiblity.

    James:

Most quick service restaurants, like Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Typhoon Tilly's, offer both snacks and quick service options (look for the snack icons on the menu boards). Your snack options are usually a la carte items that are under $4. In looking at the menu at www.allears.net for Mara, there are lots of items that I think would be considered snack options for the two snack credits per day you will be given with the deluxe plan.

You're wise to make a dining game plan, especially since the deluxe plan allows three table service credits per person per day, and making advance dining reservations to use all those credits is a necessity. Because the plan offers A LOT of food, you're spot on to double up your credits for the nicer restaurants and dinner shows, and I don't think you'll go hungry unless you have a family of football players!

With that said, if you're going to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for the day where there is NOT a table service restaurant, consider using a table service credit at Boma (I'm assumming you are at Animal Kingdom Lodge since you mentioned Mara) for breakfast and then use both snack credits at once to make a light lunch. You CAN use a table service credit at a quick service restaurant, but you lose the value of your plan....

I can't imagine running out of meals, but let's look at it: Keep in mind that even if you use two of your credits per day for a Signature Restaurant like Cinderella's Royal Table or a Dinner Show like Hoop De Do Revue, you will still have one table credit left per day for a Character Meal at breakfast/lunch/dinner or another Table Service Restaurant AND two snacks plus a refillable mug to use at your home resort.  I would recommend spacing out your Signature Restaurants and Dinner Shows at one per day.  Use your snack credits for items that are more substantial over simply a piece of fruit or drink.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
