We have a delightful disabled daughter who needs to stay in her wheelchair most of the time. What is the best way to access the rides and attractions she can go on and how can we let them know at the Lion King Show that shw would like to participate?

Hi Rhonda! I happen to be driving to Wisconsin as I am answering this question...well I am riding not driving!

When you arrive at each park stop at the Guest Relations area and pick up a Guest Assistance Card. They say you don't need them when it is a visible mobility issue but I would do this anyway. At this time ask for the handicap guide which will help you know what is ahead with the attractions. Some rides you must transfer from the wheel chair to the ride vehicle and others you will simply take the wheel chair on the car. If you have any questions stop and ask the cast member in charge. For many rides you will use an alternative entrance and please understand this doesn't necessarily mean you move to the front of the line but it does allow you ease to get to the entrance.

There are several books published as well that you might want to pick up at your bookstore before you come. They specifically help those guests with handicaps and outline quite well what each ride encompasses so you are prepared and ready when you arrive.

When you enter the Lion King show the handicap seating is on the floor level. The cast members do not choose those that are asked to participate but it still doesn't hurt to mention to the one who seats you that you hope your daughter can be picked.  When the cast comes out make sure she makes eye contact and raises her hand for their attention. I have seen many other young guests who were in wheel chairs chosen and they were ones who weren't shy!
