Hi there, Samantha! Welcome to planDisney!
I’m so happy you stopped by with this question—it’s one that pops up often, and I’m delighted to help you sort through the magic of
Disneyland Resort theme park tickets. The short and sweet answer is yes: a ticket can absolutely be linked to another Guest’s Disneyland account, and the process couldn’t be easier!
There’s no need to delete or unlink the ticket from your account first. Instead, you’ll simply open the
Disneyland mobile app, tap the menu (☰) button, and select “My Tickets & Passes.” From there, you can pull up the ticket you’d like to share. The other Guest can then open their own app, head to the same “My Tickets & Passes” section, and tap the blue plus sign in the top-right corner to select “Link Tickets & Passes.” Once they tap “Open Camera,” all they’ll need to do is scan your ticket’s barcode—and just like that, the ticket will appear in their account! If you’re not together in person, no worries at all. They can still link the ticket by scanning from an email or printed copy, or by choosing “Type ID” to manually enter the ticket number. It’s quick, simple, and can be done from anywhere.
Now, here’s an important detail to keep in mind. If the ticket was originally purchased through your MyDisney account, it will still remain visible there since you’re the original purchaser. Even if it’s linked to someone else’s account, you’ll both be able to see it listed. If you’d like to fully transfer ownership so that the ticket no longer appears in your account, your best next step is to
reach out to a friendly Cast Member by phone or chat. They’ll be happy to assist and ensure the ticket is updated correctly.
It’s also worth noting that a ticket can only be used by the Guest who first scans it at the parks' main entrance gates. When that happens, a photo is taken and the ticket becomes linked to that person for the remainder of its validity. However, even if a ticket has already been used, it can still be linked to another account—for example, to help make
Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections for your group in the Disneyland app. Just remember that only the original Guest who first entered the park with that ticket will be able to use it for admission. And if the ticket happens to be part of a special offer, such as the upcoming
California Resident Ticket Offer, for example, the Guest using it will need to show a valid government-issued photo ID with an eligible ZIP code at the time of entry.
I hope this clears up how easy it is to link and share tickets, Samantha. It’s such a simple way to make sure everyone in your party is ready to step into the magic together. Here’s to a wonderful visit ahead—filled with smooth plans, happy moments, and all the joy of
celebrating 70 years of Disneyland magic!
See ya real soon!
