How to delete the name on a ticket if I want to gift it to someone to let them use it?

Hi there, Andie! Welcome to planDisney!

First of all, I bet everyone wishes they had a friend like you! What a wonderful, kind, and magically generous gift! While you are more than welcome to call the Guest Services team that handles tickets to have the name changed, I'm happy to tell you it's not necessary. The names assigned to theme park tickets are more for your use to help designate which ticket belongs to which Guest when you are first entering the parks. It especially helps to prevent anyone from trying to use the same ticket if you are not arriving together. Cast members at the Main Entrance Gates will not be asking for identification to match names to tickets. Tickets do not become officially assigned until you swipe through that very first time. At that point, a Cast Member will take a photo of the Guest which will pop up each time the ticket is used for the Cast Members to identify the Guest attached to it. So, it's really up to you if you'd like to take the extra step for the official name change! Otherwise, you can simply forward the eTicket information to the lucky recipient!

The transfer can all be easily done in the Disneyland Mobile App! All you will need is the ticket confirmation number or barcode. Have your friend open up their app and head to the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Tap into "Tickets & Passes" and then hit the "+" in the top-right corner. Here, you will see the option to "Link Tickets & Passes". You can either have them scan the barcode directly from your phone or manually enter the ID number if you are not in the same place or arriving separately. The ticket will be transferred faster than you can park-hop across the esplanade!

You might want to tell your friend that MagicBand+ is arriving at the Disneyland Resort on October 26th! Just a few more days! After using MagicBand and the Walt Disney World Resort, I am SO excited to have this wearable technology added to our Happiest Place on Earth experience. With just a tap, you can enter those Main Entrance Gates, collect all your Disney PhotoPass photos, check in to your Lightning Lane selections, and even experience some extra pixie-dusted touches during Fantasmic! and World of Color! If you find yourself with questions, check out the latest episode of the planDisney Podcast where my fellow panelists Tony, Eean, and Alyssa are talking all about technology in the parks, including MagicBand+! Oh, and did I mention you can go on special missions as a Bounty Hunter in Batuu?! It truly unlocks a whole new level of magic ... are you ready?!

Andie, I hope this was helpful! If you find yourself with any more questions, please come back to see us again here at planDisney

    Magic awaits!
