Hi Jasmine,
Welcome to planDisney! It’s always a pleasure to help a fellow Virginian with their Walt Disney World Resort planning questions.
First, as they say around
Magic Kingdom Park during Halloween: Boo to You! Halloween is one of my very favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, because the spook-tacular decorations that line Main Street, U.S.A. include the cutest Mickey pumpkins, and the gift shops are filled with sweet and spooky tricks and treats. As autumn descends on Florida, the mornings and evenings get a little cooler, making it a terrific time for a Disney vacation.
Jasmine, I see you’re planning a visit in the middle of September, and that’s right around the time the Halloween decorations popped up in Magic Kingdom Park last year. While we’ve seen decorations as early as mid-August in previous years, we’re not sure when we’ll begin to sense the sympathetic vibrations this year, because certain festivities have been paused as part of the
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening. While
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party did not take place in 2020, I’m hoping we see a return this year, though I don’t have Madame Leota’s crystal ball to know for sure. My advice is to watch the
Disney Parks Blog for news and updates.
In regular years, Halloween decorations are mainly located at Magic Kingdom Park. Merchandise and treats can still be found throughout the theme parks, resorts, and
Disney Springs, and you’ll begin to see the Halloween items featured on the Disney Parks Blog as they begin to appear in the parks. I love seeing all the creative treats Disney’s chefs dream up for the holidays, and I can’t wait to enjoy a pumpkin-flavored dessert in my favorite place this fall!
As you continue to
plan your visit this autumn, please come back and see us here at planDisney. Just as there’s always room for one more Happy Haunt in the
Haunted Mansion, we’re ready to add your questions to our trick or treat bag and help you plan the perfect Halloween visit.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
