Hi Ashley!
Oh boy! You’ve asked all about the
holidays at Walt Disney World, one of my favorite topics. I better be careful because I could go on and on about how magical it is to visit Mickey and pals during the most wonderful time of the year. So let’s unwrap your question and get right to it, shall we?
Mark November 6th on your calendar because that's the date that Disney has announced holiday magic will debut! I see that your arrival date for your vacation is November 8th, so I hope this news was the surprise you hoped to find in your stocking and not a lump of coal! Halloween decor will have turned into a pumpkin and will need to be put away to make way for the yuletide decorations.
As much as I adore Walt Disney World in the fall, there’s just something about the holiday spirit that envelops my family and me when we explore the theme parks, Disney Springs, and the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Then it truly does feel like the song says: “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go.”
I’m going to take you on a behind-the-scenes tour that shows exactly what goes into changing over from Halloween decor to holly jolly splendor! Watch this
time lapse video from the Disney Parks Blog as the Magic Kingdom undergoes a holiday transformation. This makes me appreciate the decor all the more after seeing this! There’s no place like “Home” for the holidays...and now you know why one greeting you’ll hear when you return to the Most Magical Place on Earth is “Welcome Home!”
The new normal at Walt Disney World is evolving, but Disney still promises a return to the magic for its Guests. To be prepared, be sure to read up on all the
Experience Updates for what to expect on your vacation. Some of the things I’m anticipating for my November trip are seeing the character cavalcades, stuffing my face with all the delicious holiday-themed treats, and doing some holiday shopping in all the shops. Guess I better start saving up my Disney dollars and working out to prepare for those extra calories!
