Hi there, Scott!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Even though summer has just begun, I, like you, am already thinking about the holidays! My family visits Walt Disney World every year during the holiday season, and it makes my heart so happy to be at The Most Magical Place on Earth to celebrate!
Featured as part of the
Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, the
Candlelight Processional shares the biblical story of Christmas through word and song. Celebrity narrators tell the story of Christ's birth, joined by a mass choir and a 50-piece orchestra to provide the music. My family considers this event a "must-do" when we visit during the holidays. It's a beautiful show, and I always leave full of Christmas spirit. Over the years, we have enjoyed getting to see such awesome celebrity narrators as Monique Coleman (Disney's High School Musical), James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Pat Sajak (Wheel of Fortune), Steven Curtis Chapman (Contemporary Christian singer), and the amazing Neil Patrick Harris!
Sadly, Walt Disney World had to make the difficult decision to cancel this special event in 2020. While no announcements have been made regarding the plans for 2021, I am
so very hopeful that this event will return in some form this year. I'm sure Disney is doing everything they can to provide amazing holiday offerings for Guests, and will take the Candlelight Processional into consideration as a beloved Christmas tradition for many!
I encourage you to keep a close eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World on
Facebook and
Twitter for the most up-to-date announcements regarding the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays and the Candlelight Processional. My fingers are crossed that we will get some news very soon!
Thanks again for visiting planDisney - have a magical day!
