Deciding between All Star resorts or going to Pop Century instead for extra transportation. We're going at Thanksgiving & I was thinking that having the skyliner as an extra option might help with the crowds. Any advice on this?

Welcome to planDisney, Britne! I'm always excited to see another Louisiana guest making plans to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth! The milder weather, stunning Christmas decorations, special events, and all the extra magic of the holiday season make Thanksgiving week one of my favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!

Britne, having stayed at each of the Disney's All-Star Resorts as well as Disney's Pop Century Resort, I don't think you'll be disappointed with either choice. The room sizes, resort amenities, and pool areas are pretty comparable. Both resorts also promise all of the benefits of staying as a guest at a Disney Resort hotel, including complimentary resort transportation and Early Theme Park Entry, but as you mentioned, Pop Century does have the added transportation option of the Disney Skyliner for guests traveling to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT from the resort. One thing to keep in mind is that because the Skyliner is available, buses do not typically run from Disney's Pop Century to these two theme parks, so the Skyliner is often the only transportation option for those two destinations.

For my family, we personally choose to stay at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort if we are selecting a value resort because we prefer the theming of many of our favorite animated films, and also because my youngest daughter has a fear of heights so the Skyliner doesn't work for us. My parents, however, always choose Disney's Pop Century Resort because they love the ease of traveling the Skyliner in their ECVs; it's quicker to load than the buses and they love the experience of the most magical flight on Earth! So I'd say it's honestly a matter of personal preference; if you're traveling with younger children and using strollers, the Disney Skyliner does allow you to roll them right on board without folding them down, which I know many parents agree is a major transportation perk!

Britne, no matter which resort hotel you choose, you're going to have a magical time! Before I let you go, here's a little Louisiana lagniappe - when utilizing the Disney Buses from your Disney Resort hotel, be sure to check the Bus Wait Times in the My Disney Experience mobile app to plan your departure and arrival times a little more seamlessly! You'll be able to see when the next bus will arrive and also an estimated park arrival time; this is one of my favorite features of using the app and has saved us so much time waiting on buses!

I hope this helps, Britne! If you have any other planning questions, come back to see us again at planDisney! We're always ready to help you make magic!

    Happy Holidays,
    Alison
