Deciding between Pop and POR for our stay. Have 8am ADR for Aker, how much travel time will I need for each and when do the buses start running? About how long will it take to get to Aker after arriving at park? Don't want to be late! Thanks :-)

    Hi Jennifer,

You're going to have a tough time deciding between Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort.  My advice is to check them both out on the Walt Disney World website and ask your family which one looks more magical to them.

I stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort last month and I noticed that it took 14 minutes to take the bus from the resort to the front entrance at Epcot.  Keep in mind, though, that once you arrive at the bus stop at Disney's Pop Century Resort, it might take up to twenty minutes for a bus to arrive.  Then, once you board, it will likely take about 14 minutes to arrive at Epcot.  Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is in the Norway Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot.  That is pretty deep into the park so I would estimate it will take you another 15 minutes to walk to Norway once you enter the turnstiles at Epcot.  If I were you, I'd grab a 7 am bus at Disney's Pop Century Resort if I wanted to comfortably make an 8 am breakfast reservation at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.  The same would be true if you were coming from Disney's Port Orleans Resort, although this resort is a bit closer to Epcot than Pop Century.

Wishing you a lovely breakfast with the princesses!

    Jill

PS.  The official word on Disney buses is that they start running one hour before park opening.  However, there is typically at least one bus running earlier than that to accommodate guests with early morning dining reservations, so be at that bus stop by 7 am.
