Deciding between POP & POR. 2 adults 2 kids. Would love the trundle bed to avoid sharing. Can we get a trundle room with only 4 in our party? Any other compelling reasons to upgrade to moderate (besides coffee maker, sqr footage & fridge)? Love pa

    Hi!

When you book a room at Port Orleans Riverside, you can request a Bayou room in order to be placed in the area with trundle beds. The Mansion section does not have trundles. While requests are not guaranteed, WDW does their best to meet the needs of families. Yes, you can make this request with only 4 people in your family.

In fact, our family was assigned a room in the Bayou section this past January. We are a family of 3.

Depending on the ages of your children and whether you plan to swim, the pool at Port Orleans Riverside has a slide. The pools at Pop Century do not have slides.

Port Orleans Riverside provides transportation to Downtown Disney via the Sassagoula Riverboat which is a relaxing way to travel. POR also has a table service restaurant whereas PC only has a food court.

The theming at POR is more subdued. All of these differences depend on what is or is not important to your family. We stayed at both of these resorts in January. POR would be my choice over PC as I think you get a good value for your money at a moderate resort. However, if keeping your budget low is your most important factor then you'll have a good time at Pop too!! Enjoy!

You can certainly save money by staying at a value resort!
