We just decided to visit Magic Kingdom at Christmas time this year. Is a regular park ticket good for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? I don't know what to expect, does the park close early and then reopen for the Mickey Christmas Party? Thank You!

    Hi Gabrielle!

The Magic Kingdom is absolutely beautiful at Christmas! Cinderella Castle is just breathtaking draped in thousands of lights tinkling like icicles.

The last 2013 Mickey's Very Christmas Party Event is the evening of December 20th. You will not need a special ticket to enter the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I checked the online calendar for the hours for the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and its currently showing the following for both:

    8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Extra Magic Hours (EMHs)
    9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Regular Theme Park Hours

If this year is like the past few years, I would expect the Magic Kingdom to be crowded and would plan to arrive early. Don't let the crowds bother you - you can still have an amazing time. Here are some things that I think would help you before and during your trip:

    * Use the Disney Parks Moms Panel - we'll be here to help you with all of your questions.
    * Stay on property so you'll have access to EMHs that are only available to Guests staying at a Disney Resort.
    * Plan ahead and make your Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) 180 days prior to your trip.
    * Arrive at the theme park gates early or as soon as you can after opening.
    * Take advantage of Disney's complimentary Fastpass+ service.
    * Select your 3 "must dos" in the parks you're visiting and do those first.
    * Unless you have ADRs, plan to eat lunch and dinner earlier than usual to help you avoid some of the crowds.
    * Bring your own water and snacks to avoid waiting in line for them.
    * Remember to relax. Disney takes care of every detail in the parks so take the time to pay attention to them.
Please feel free to visit with any other questions. We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
