If we have decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Disney Springs instead of Port Orleans, can we just pay for and keep the tickets that were purchased with the PO room package, or will canceling the room also cancel our park tickets and reservations?

Hey Howdy Hey Susan and welcome to planDisney!

I always love talking with fellow Buckeyes about Walt Disney World Resort and I love the benefits that you get when you stay at a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel. So close to the action and so many benefits give these options great advantages! Specifically, with your question on changing your reservations, I would say a big, it depends and we will go over a few options.

Depending on if you booked a vacation package or not, the package with your resort hotel and Theme Park tickets, will determine how to go about canceling your reservation. If you already have your reservation booked at Holiday Inn Orlando and just need to cancel your reservation at Port Orleans, unfortunately, you would have to cancel the whole thing. Since the tickets and room are booked together, you would have to cancel the package and rebook your park reservations. Considering the time frame you are making these changes, you should be able to do it all from your My Disney Experience account and you would get your $200.00 deposit back as well to apply to your new booking. One variation is if you have not yet booked your room at Holiday Inn Orlando, you might be able to change your reservation hotel accommodations without canceling the whole booking.

To change your reservation, you would do so in your My Disney Experience account and go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. On the far right, you should see an option to "Change My Reservation". If you click on that, you should be able to change your resort selection to Holiday Inn Orlando. Follow the prompts and then you will see an updated total after making your selection, confirm the change and you are all set!

So many perks to planning your trip when staying at a Good Neighbor hotel. Not only do you have the ease of planning your trip, but you also have the proximity to Disney Springs. I love taking a walk through this area at night. Often you have live entertainment to listen to while shopping around. I hope you will find a reason to visit Disney Springs and my new favorite dessert stop at Gideon's Bakehouse at the Landing. The cookies are a cult favorite and I have not had a bad one yet. They are super-sized treats that make it easy to share, not that you would want to but it is an option, with some classic varieties and unique seasonal offerings.

Good luck with your continued planning and let us know if you have any further questions!

    Happy planning,

    Nick
