Hi! We decided to (on the spur of the moment) to head down to WDW at the end of this month. The kids are out of school for fall break, so we thought why not. How hard is it to get into character breakfasts without a reservation? Any tips? Thanks!

    Hello, Alison!

Last-minute trips to the Walt Disney World Resort are some of my favorite ones to plan. It's a much different experience than planning 6+ months in advance because you will not have to wait very long for the magic of your Disney vacation to begin!

Character meals often fill to capacity months in advance, but that does not mean you will be unable to secure a table for your upcoming vacation. If you have your heart set on dining with favorite Disney Characters, you may want to start looking into the available options right away. If a table is not available for your top choices, keep trying -- Reservations may open up in the days leading up to your vacation as other Guests rearrange their plans. Remember, you can check back as often as you'd like to see if a reservation becomes available. I've had great success by checking the dining page for last-minute reservations, and have previously been able to book meals at places like 'Ohana and Be Our Guest Restaurant (2 popular dining locations) in the days leading up to my vacations.

Wishing you a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Alison! Please do not hesitate to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your trip. We'd love to hEAR from you!
