We have decided to take our family(10 of us)to DW in memory of my husband's parents who recently passed away. They loved Disney and often spoke about having the family there together. Does Disney offer any free souvenirs/experiences for family gatherings

Hi Angela. First of all, let me offer my sympathies for your family's loss. I think it is so special that you are bringing the family together with a visit to a place they loved. I have so many Disney memories of my father, who passed away 6 years ago, that it's hard to look anywhere in the parks and not think of him. Our family memories live on with Disney's magic.

As far as experiences during your gathering, I will share with you how I would approach this vacation and hope that it gives you some ideas. Disney has been asking the question "What Will You Celebrate" at its parks and resorts. Guests are invited to visit guest relations for a free button that proclaims what they are celebrating today.

Have a cast member write your in-laws names on the button and proudly display those buttons, letting their memories get shared with everyone that may stop and ask who they are. You may be surprised at the positive effect you will have not only on your group, but on those you come in contact with as well. So many people can relate to the loss of a loved one, and while it is easy to get caught up in sadness, celebrating the life that was lived is such a wonderful way to honor them.

Because you are a group of 8 or more, you can also book Grand Gatherings at (407) 934-7639. The cast members on that line can tell you about special experiences you can enjoy as a family, including Illuminations viewing parties, which are at an additional cost. There are lots of free activities you could do in the parks to remember them - ride on their favorite attractions and share a memory as you wait in line. Take a photo in front of their favorite spot and talk about what why you think they loved it. Pass on memories of their lives to younger family members and continue their legacy and their family love growing strong.

I wish you the very best of visits to Disney World and I know your husband's parents will be with you in spirit, celebrating right along with you.
