If we decide not to participate on any excursions at the Nassau port are there other things? We are taking our first disney cruise in December, 2010 and we are traveling with a 3 and 6 year old.

    Hi Elaine,

Welcome to the Moms Panel - and congratulations on booking your first Disney Cruise!  I'll be honest, unless you have a burning desire to explore a foreign port - I wouldn't discourage staying on the ship in Nassau.  We rarely get off the ship at this port anymore, rather we stay onboard to take advantage of the relatively empty ship.   For our little ones, this is a perfect opportunity to swim without the crowds.

You certainly can find plenty of shopping within walking distance of the ship, and there will be taxis available to bring you to one of the public beaches - or over to Atlantis.  Keep in mind that if you visit Atlantis on your own, your access to this resort will be limited to the shopping area, casino and main lobby.  Wrist bands are required to explore the aquariums and pool area.

    Have a great time!
