We are going in decembr. We are on the fence about renting a car or using the buses. We have tried both and last time and it was a pain to use the buses. But i have realized that we are staying in a less crowded time of the year so which do u suggest? Thanks!

We were in the same boat for our September trip.  I, too, have gone both routes in the past and have found that while Walt Disney World transportation is efficient, it can be difficult to get from resort to resort for meals and it also requires more patience than this mom has.  When we couldn't find a decent rental price for our upcoming trip, though, I had resigned myself to using Disney transportation.  You really can't beat the price after all!  But we got lucky this week and found a great rate on a minivan so we'll be renting again.

As for your dilemma, I would take a few things into consideration.
    -Where are you staying?
-Do you have many meals scheduled for resort hotel restaurants?
    -Can you justify the cost?

If you are staying in a monorail resort, or one within walking distance of Epcot, you may find that a rental car is unnecessary.  One of the biggest perks of these resorts is their proximity to the parks and the ease with which you can get there.  If, on the other hand, you are staying at one of the All Star resorts, a rental car might be worthwhile.

As for the meals, if you are doing a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys and a dinner at 'Ohana, all while staying at Port Orleans Riverside, you might find that the rental car would make your transportation much easier.  Because the busses don't run between resorts, getting from one to the other can be time consuming.

Lastly, consider the cost.  If you are able to get a great rate on the rental, I would opt to go that route.  It would save you time in the long run and the convenience is tough to beat.  If you can't seem to score a decent rate though, I would just rely on Disney transportation, including the Magical Express for your airport transfers.

Personally, I think the time of year you visit should have little to do with your decision.  I would base my choice off of the three factors I mentioned and weigh my conclusions accordingly.  Good luck!
