    In December 2009, I visited. Just before our trip Disney offered a discount merchandise card (ex.$1000 for $650). I have a trip coming up and haven't received any such offer yet. I am wondering if this is something they offer each year or only in 2009.

    Disney World always announces some fantastic specials and promotions throughout the year but there's really never any rhyme or reason as to when these specials will begin or what they will entail.  

    My best advice is to double check your Disney.com account to ensure your email address is updated and current, as sometimes these special arrive via email.  Another way to take advantage of current discounts and promotions is by frequently visiting both the Disney World Special Offers site and the official Disney Parks Blog!
