Hi, Andrea! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
The
holiday season is such a magical time to visit
Walt Disney World Resort, so I'm excited to hear you're planning a trip for next December! Many of my favorite holiday offerings such as
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and the
Merry Menagerie, can be found at the theme parks. However, you can experience the beauty of the holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort before you even enter the parks.
The
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels are all decked out in holiday splendor, and Guests are welcome to visit the various resort hotels to take it all in. I love how each resort hotel's holiday decor captures the unique theming of that particular property.
One of my favorite resort hotels to visit during the Yuletide season is
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The lobby has such a cozy, homey feeling, and the Christmas tree is breathtakingly beautiful. I also love visiting
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during the holiday season. This resort hotel's lobby is stunning any time of the year, but the gorgeous Christmas tree and the life-sized
gingerbread house make visiting Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa a holiday season must-do.
Please keep in mind that
parking at the Disney Resorts Collection Hotels is reserved for Guests staying at that particular resort hotel and Guests who have a
dining reservation at one of the restaurants located at that resort hotel. However, you are more than welcome to use Walt Disney World Resort's complimentary
transportation system if you'd like to visit the various resort hotels to see the holiday decorations. In my experience, I have also traveled to several resort hotels using a ride-share service. However, permitting ride-share drop-offs is at the discretion of the guards at each resort hotel's parking lot gates.
As you plan for your trip next year, please feel free to
come back to planDisney with any additional questions that you might have. We'd love to help you have a happy holiday season and a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Samantha
