We are going on December 5th, but we are not going to MVMCP. Will the castle still light up with the icy lights prior to the party start, or is our only chance of seeing it to buy party tickets?

Welcome to planDisney, Jessica. I'm happy to answer your holiday-themed question today!

Whether you are attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park or not, there is still nothing like the holidays at the Walt Disney World Resort. The decorations on Main Street, U.S.A., and throughout the various lands, will instantly put you in the holiday spirit. The music, the smells, the sights, and the treats for purchase during regular park hours will fill your soul with holiday cheer and instantly put a smile on your face. What's more? The holiday overlay of the Jungle Cruise, known as the Jingle Cruise during this time, is usually available for all Guests to experience, not just party-goers.

The icy Cinderella Castle Dream Lights were retired a few years ago so they will likely not be available for either day Guests or party-goers. However, the Disney Parks Blog announced that there will be a brand-new Frozen-inspired entertainment experience that will "illuminate the castle in a whole new way." In that announcement, they made sure to mention that this experience would be available during both regular park hours and during the party. So it appears you'll be able to see Cinderella Castle light up in its holiday best whether you attend the party or not! Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more announcements as the holiday season quickly approaches!

While you are waiting for your magical experience to arrive, take a look at last year's Disney Eats Foodie Guide to Holiday Delights at Walt Disney World Parks, Disney Springs 2022. While these treats are not guaranteed to come back, this guide will give you an idea of some of the offerings that the resort concocts for the most wonderful time of year. Sometimes returning favorites, well, return, but often the merry chefs at the resort are whipping up something new and exciting for Guests to enjoy! From the looks of it, these types of guides are usually published toward the beginning of November, which is right around the corner. So stay tuned and cross your fingers for it to be released soon!

Jessica, enjoy the holiday magic that can only be experienced at the Disney Parks. If you have any other questions, please reach out to me and I'd be happy to answer them for you!

    Make the season bright,
    Matt
