Hi there, Amy!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! How exciting that you’re planning a December visit to Walt Disney World. December is one of my favorite months for visiting, too—there’s just something special about Florida’s warm weather mixed with Disney’s festive cheer! As a local Floridian, my family loves swimming at all of the
Disney Resort pools in December. Whether sliding down the water slides or soaking in the magical scenery, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a mid-afternoon break.
You’ll be happy to know that all Disney Resort pools are heated to an approximate cozy 82 degrees—making them swimmable even in December! The only times pools may close are for scheduled refurbishments, lightning in the area, or an especially chilly day (which is rare here in Florida).
Some of our favorite resort pools include
Stormalong Bay at
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, where the lazy river is a fan favorite and feels like drifting through a tropical paradise, and
Uzima Springs Pool at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where my girls love zipping down the water slide surrounded by lush, savanna-inspired landscapes.
Please note that the resort's pools are exclusively for resort guests, and you’ll need your
MagicBand or room key card for access.
Amy, I hope this makes your visit even more magical! If you have any other questions or need tips for your adventure, don’t hesitate to stop back by.
Happy planning,
Christina
