Hi Carolyn,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
So excited to hear that you’ll be coming to the Walt Disney World Resort this Christmas season! It’s always so fun to see the decorations, have different snacks, and just take in the sights and sounds during this time.
When it comes to entertainment like
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, typically those are reserved for
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which runs through December 22nd. From my past experience, I have seen where the Parade is shown on Christmas Day and closer to New Year’s Eve, but I can’t promise that will happen again this year. I suggest staying tuned to
Disney Parks Blog to see if any holiday entertainment will be available after the party, again no promises, but I’ve seen it happen in the past!
As for character meet and greets, some of the characters can be decked out for the holidays. A lot of those meet and greets happen at the Party, but you never know who you might see closer to Christmas. I know some meet and greets do have an overlay. For example, when you meet Donald and friends at
Donald’s Dino-Bash in
Disney’s Animal Kingdom, they have on Christmas attire. In
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can see
For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration which has a Christmas overlay as well (it’s super cute)! Also don't forget about the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. So, while you might not be able to see all the characters from the Party, there are still a lot of Christmas elements all around.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you continue to prepare for your holiday trip. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
