Hi Laura,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It has been decided - you win wife of the year award!
With Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you will feel transported to the most perfect romantic getaway, with death defying rides just down the road (personally I like options!). My family just had to drag ourselves away from this beautiful resort last month. You will love the decor and the monorail access. Our last day was indeed a tragedy.
Yes, you can certainly take your resort refillable mugs with you to the parks and use them to get water from water fountains. Since many places offer free cups of ice water, I suggest you get a few cups of these and then pour them into your mugs. Having said this, the mugs can take up lots of space, so we typically take our own water bottles or we buy a bottle of water and just refill it as we go.
My family has used the Disney Dining Plan. Remember to calculate your total meal credits per night of stay and then make your
dining reservations accordingly (you do need dining reservations). We always plan our meals so that we have dinner on the day we arrive and breakfast on the day we depart. That typically leaves us two meals per day in between on the Disney Dining Plan.
Since 'Ohana means family, I can think of no better way to start your trip than with dinner there during the
Happily Ever After show. Get to the check-in station about 20-30 minutes prior to your reservation time and request a window table. On our last visit, our dinner reservation was at 8:35 p.m. We had a window table and the show was breathtaking!
Laura, sending pixie dust to you as you plan this fairy tale adventure!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
