Hi Katie!
Thanks for sailing in to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question!
Shopping onboard a Disney Cruise is one of my favorite activities during days at sea. Each ship is stocked with "whozits and whatzits galore"! I'm happy to help answer how payments work on a Disney Cruise and whether or not debit cards are accepted.
During your online check-in you will fill out the
Payment Authorization Form. Here, you'll have the opportunity to submit your debit card information as well as which members of your party are authorized to make charges to your account. Once you arrive to the port terminal and check in, everyone in your family will be issued a "Key to the World" card that will act as your stateroom key and onboard charge card. As you make purchases on the ship throughout your cruise, all charges will be charged to your "Key to the World" card and then billed to your stateroom account. All Port Adventures will be charged to your stateroom account, too.
Once onboard the ship, you will use your "Key to the World" card for all purchases; if you link your debit card to your stateroom account during the online check-in, that will be the card that is charged for all onboard purchases, including Port Adventures. I also want to mention you can stop by Guest Services at any point of your cruise to receive a print-out of the charges made to your "Key to the World" card. If you don't have time to stop by Guest Services during your cruise, that's okay! On the morning of debarkation, you will receive a print-out of charges outside your stateroom door.

Bon Voyage,
Beth
