We are debating whether to stay at the Poly or WL. We have 2 kids ages 5 and 2. Which resort is better transportationwise and with dining options? Also which has a better room setup for small kids and is the easier resort to get around?

Hi Megan!  Both are excellent and beautiful resorts on property and both have many return guests each year.  With small children I would definitely head to the Polynesian if you are able.  Staying in a resort on the monorail will help you get to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT with more ease then dealing with the busses at the Wilderness Lodge. The Polynesian has several dining choices but with the easy access of the monorail you are only a couple of minutes away from experiencing other locations at the Grand Floridian and Contemporary resorts.

To get to all parks from the Wilderness Lodge you will need to take a bus or the boat ferry to the Magic Kingdom. To reach parks from the Polynesian you can take the monorail or boat to the Magic Kingdom, the monorail to EPCOT, and then busses to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.  Please remember when taking a bus you will need to completely fold up your strollers for the trip.  The drivers will not be able to leave until all strollers are secured which means you must have children and all packages out before loading onto a bus.

In general the rooms will be about the same size; Polynesian offering a few more square feet.  The Wilderness Lodge does have rooms with bunkbeds if you think that suits your needs for your family.  You can request these rooms when making reservations.  Both are deluxe resorts offering similar amenities.
