Debating 3rd week in September or 1st full week in November...which will have lighter crowds? Also, are both water parks generally open in November? What about park hours? They aren't posted yet, but typical hours? Suggestions please! Love the panel

    Hi Mindy,

If visiting the Disney water parks is high on your to-do list, I recommend you travel during the third week of September.  The weather will be perfect for fun at the water parks at that time.  I visited Typhoon Lagoon in late September last fall and it was a marvelous day.  Typical water park hours in the fall are 10 am to 5 pm daily.

I think you'll also find that mid- to late-September is a great time to visit the four major Disney theme parks.  Since most American school children are back in the classroom, lines for attractions are very reasonable.  The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival begins a few weeks later so those crowds will not yet have arrived either.

Also, if you are a Chase Disney Visa cardholder, you may qualify for a free dining program if you travel in September.  You can call (407) 939-1881 for more details regarding this promotion.

It seems to me that all indications are pointing to a September vacation.  Do let us know if you need any help planning it!

    Jill

PS.  Early November is another nice time to visit.  That's when the Christmas decorations are likely to first appear.  Generally, though, it seems that the parks are a bit more crowded in November than in September.
