Hi there, Allison! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I'm so glad to hear that you're considering a
character dining experience for your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Enjoying a delicious meal while you visit with some of your favorite Disney friends is a great way to make the most of your time. Character dining is very popular, so be sure to
book your dining reservations 60 days in advance.
I certainly understand the challenges that come with planning meals for a picky eater. My teenage son is on the autism spectrum and is not at all flexible about trying new foods. He prefers plainer foods that are typically found on most kids' menus. One of the reasons why we love Walt Disney World Resort so much is that the restaurant Cast Members always go out of their way to make sure that my son has something he would like to eat.
Although menu items are always subject to change,
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall currently offers some kid-friendly fare such as corn dog nuggets and macaroni & cheese on their menu. You could also speak to your server to see if it would be possible to serve your kiddo a plainer version of one of their dishes such as the Norwegian meatballs or chicken and dumplings. While accommodations such as these are at the Cast Members' discretion and limited to the ingredients that they have on hand in their kitchen, in my experience, the Cast Members always do their best to try to serve all Guests a meal they will enjoy.
Allison, if we can help you with anything else as you get ready for your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a magical day!
Samantha
