We're debating how we'll get into the parks. Several in our party have limited mobility and our son uses a wheelchair. How long is the tram from the parking garages? How long is the shuttle ride from the Toy Story parking lot?

    Hi there, Lisa!

A visit to the Disneyland Resort starts in a magical way with the first ride of the day aboard the parking structure trams or the Toy Story Parking Area shuttles. I love how the Cast Members and drivers help to make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

The travel time between the Disneyland Resort theme park parking areas and the passenger drop-off areas near the main entrances of the theme parks is often about the same for the shuttles or the trams. Both can vary anywhere from about 5 minutes to about 10 minutes, depending on traffic. When the city streets are busier, the shuttles to and from Toy Story Parking Area do tend to be slightly longer than the parking structure trams. Besides similar transportation times, all theme park parking areas provide accommodations for Guests with disabilities. Ramps and tie-downs are available for Guests who need to remain in a wheelchair.

I think the choice for theme park parking comes down to personal preferences. As an engineer, I’m in awe of the amazing design and construction of the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and Pixar Pals Parking Structure. Some may also prefer the added shelter of the parking structures depending on weather conditions. Despite the cool architecture of the parking structures, I still prefer using Toy Story Parking Area because I like how the queuing is organized and the continuous stream of shuttle buses helps to keep the flow of Guests moving even during the busiest of times.

I hope that gives a little insight to help you make your decision about how to get to the Disneyland Resort, Lisa. If you have any more questions for us here at planDisney, we’d love to hear from you again soon.
