Debating between family suite at AOA (again) or cabins at Fort wilderness for out Jan '17 trip. Do you need a car for the Cabins? Can you walk to the buses to the parks? We've stayed at AOA before but wanted to try something new.

    Hello, Katherine!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

OK...I can honestly say your family would LOVE the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort!  My family has stayed here four times now, and it has become our favorite Disney Resort!  The whole resort area is absolutely beautiful with so much to do!  (In fact, my family will be there in two weeks, and one whole day of our trip will be spent playing at the resort!)  I am also very excited to tell you the cabins have been newly renovated! Oh, and having a full kitchen is SO nice!

You do not have to have a car to enjoy Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.  There is an internal bus system that will take you all around the resort.  Because this resort is so large, you will most definitely need to take the internal bus system to The Outpost where you will take Disney transportation to the Disney Theme Parks.  The internal bus system will also take you to the pool area and The Settlement where the marina and restaurants are located like Trails End Restaurant and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.  You can also rent a golf cart to travel around the resort by calling (407) 824-2742!  In fact, my five kids LOVE riding the golf carts!!

If you have other questions, please let us know!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
