I am debating on which dining plan to choose for my trip in September. Do I choose the Deluxe Plan or the Plus Dining? We will be traveling with our 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter - who both love to eat - any suggestions or feedback?

    Hi Jennifer,

Congratulations on going to Walt Disney World at my favorite time of year. I never have a problem yanking the kids out of school for a romp at the most magical place on earth!

I am a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan but sometimes too much of a good thing can be just that- too much. I have found traveling with children in the age ranges from 6 yrs to 21 yrs, we have had snacks leftover at the end of our vacation on the Basic Plan (Plus Dining).Technically,, your 1 yr old can eat off of your plate with no meal plan at all. The counter (fast food) services are always my best friends with the kids because it allows us to eat on the run, while at the parks. I recommend you choose a plan that has fast food service and snacks  to allow you a little more flexibility with the little ones. The Deluxe Plan is 3 Table Services per day which really ties you down to reservations 3 times a day.

Even if your kids like to eat, I suspect you will have plenty of food even on the Plus Dining Plan. Here is a little tip. Choose a few buffets as your table services to maximize the appetites of your little ones, There's nothing like all-you-can-eat, when the kids are ravenous. Only you know the appetites of your family, and what is sufficient. Trust me, your kids will have more on their minds than eating once you are at Walt Disney World.
