Hiya Apryl!
Welcome to planDisney! I think deciding which
Walt Disney World Resort to stay in is one of the best decisions to make. I have stayed at both
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and found both to be amazing!
Depending on the date you are arriving I would say that Disney's Carribean Beach Resort would be a great choice. It's beautiful and has access to the
Disney Skyliner as well as bus transportation options.
Sebastian's Bistro is also a very underrated amazing restaurant that you should check out. As for room locations, the standard view rooms with the fifth sleeper are only available in Jamaica and Aruba areas and it's not every room. The Aruba rooms are closest to Disney's Riviera Resort Skyline Station while the Jamaica rooms are closer to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Skyline Station. If you choose a water or pool view room then the 5th sleeper rooms are available at any of the buildings. No matter which buildings you end up in it won't be a long walk at all to the nearest station.
As for refurbishments, there is work being done to what was the old Pirate Rooms as they are being replaced with a fresh "Under the Sea" theme inspired by The Little Mermaid! These are the rooms in the Trinidad section. This is still ongoing and may not be done until later this year. The other rooms in this Resort were refurbished a few years ago and even when I stayed in 2018 I found them to be very nice. The carpet was removed and everything had a pleasant update. In addition, just a heads up, if you are planning on visiting between January 2024 till late March 2024 the main pool (
Fuentes del Morro pool) will be closed for refurbishment. Be mindful, that this anticipated timeline may change so double-check before you book or arrive at this Resort. I love this Resort because of this specific pool area as it is amazing so keep this in mind if this is important to your family.
If you want to stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort I highly recommend securing a room at Gran Destino Tower! It is truly a romantic luxury at its finest and is a short walk to amazing dining and the pool. I enjoyed staying in the very large brand new rooms and having a short walk to the nearest bus stop. This Resort only has complimentary bus transportation to get to the Parks. One of my favorite experiences here was visiting the
Dahlia Lounge and having a great birds-eye view from the outdoor lounge area of the Parks! Many people don't know that this Tower is inspired by a movie Walt Disney made with Salvador Dali called Destino. The short film plays in the lobby and the Resort rooms and is beautiful. Just to note, there are no 5th sleeper rooms at this Resort and most of the rooms fit up to 4 adults. So you, with your three kids would be fine but another adult would make staying here very difficult. You can only add another person to the room if they are under the age of 3. Three options can handle more than 4 adults and they are the Casitas-1 Bedroom Suite, Casitas-Executive Suite, and the Tower room- Presidential Suite with Club Access. So many choices!
I promise you that if you choose either Resort you will be happy. I hope this helps! Happy Planning!
