We are debating if we would benefit from the dining plan (me, my husband, and 6 year old daughter). I have to be dairy-free and gluten-free and my daughter is very picky. I was going to pack most of the food for my daughter. Would it still be worth it?

While I, personally, don't have any dietary restrictions, I have had the opportunity to dine at Disney with a number of friends and family that do, Rene.  Those dining experiences have taught me that Disney's talented chefs can and do accommodate a wide spectrum of dietary restrictions each and every day.  With those experiences in mind I can tell you that any of Disney's dining plans would most likely be beneficial to your family, assuming you would order similar menu items and pay for them out of pocket otherwise.  While your food choices will be more limited than they would otherwise, your dietary restrictions won't negate the value of the dining plan, Rene.  Just be sure to note your requirements when you book your reservations and again when you arrive at the restaurant podium.  In most cases, a chef will visit your table to inquire about your situation and make suggestions.  He or she will do his or her personal best to ensure that you have a positive (and tasty!) experience.  My vote is to go for it.  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Darcie, Alabama

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
