My dear sister-in-law, told me that our kids won't be allowed to wear lanyards on the attractions. I thought this sounded absurd since lanyard-wearing seems to be so popular at Disney World. Can you please set the record straight?

As a fellow lanyard-wearer I can tell you that your children will be allowed to wear their lanyards while enjoying the attractions at Walt Disney World.  In my experience, I've never been FORCED to remove it.  I can HIGHLY recommend that they NOT wear them on some attractions, though.  When riding rides like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, etc  I suggest storing them in the personal items storage found in the rider compartment (that is, if they won't forget them there.)  I also suggest than sunglasses and hats got in these compartments as well.  Otherwise, they can hand them off to another friend/family member that's not riding or put them in a bag/camera case, etc.
