Hi, Amy! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Whenever I visit
Walt Disney World Resort with my son who is on the autism spectrum, we use Disability Access Service (DAS). This is an accommodation meant for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment. Recently, some changes were made to the DAS program, including the option to pre-register for DAS with a
Disability Services Cast Member via a live video chat. However, at this time, the video chat option is only available to Guests from the United States and Canada.
While you will not have the option to pre-register your husband for DAS, you can certainly do so once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. On the first theme park day of your trip, stop by the main entrance
Guest Relations location as soon as you arrive at the park. There you and your husband can talk to a Cast Member about his specific needs. If the Cast Member determines that DAS would be a good fit for your husband, they can get him registered right then and there. It's a quick and easy process.
Amy, you've chosen a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! There are lots of exciting things happening at The Most Magical Place on Earth this spring. Be sure to visit
EPCOT for the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. While you're at
Magic Kingdom Park, you can experience the thrilling new attraction,
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise. Also, you don't want to miss the returning fan-favorite nighttime spectacular,
Happily Ever After.
I'm sure you're going to have the most magical vacation ever! If we can answer any additional questions for you, please don't hesitate to ask. See ya real soon!
Samantha
