Dear Mom's Panel, We are cruising on the Dream on October 21st. I know Disney has a list of items to pack, but is there anything "special" we should take? Someone suggested a night light . . . and metal hooks for our towels.

    Hi there, Tina!

Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Your Disney Cruise Line vacation will be here so soon, can you believe it?!?!  I am certain that you are excitedly counting down the days until your adventure at sea finally arrives!  Go ahead and rest up now because once you step foot onboard the fun doesn’t end!

I am glad that you have looked through the packing list that Disney Cruise Line provides as it is a very helpful list of items that you want to make sure to pack with you!  In addition to those items, you may want to bring pirate garb for the ALWAYS fun and exciting Pirate Night and possibly even some Halloween costumes since you will be embarking on a Halloween on the High Seas voyage!  Mickey’s Mousequerade Party is always one of my crew’s favorite onboard activities…I mean who wouldn’t enjoy a good dance party with your favorite characters followed by trick-or-treating?!?  Of course, costumes for both the Halloween festivities and Pirate Night are completely optional, but it’s often fun to dress up along with the other Guests onboard!

Some things that I always recommend Guests bring onboard with them are lanyards for your Key to the World Card since you will want to have that handy, Ziploc bags because you will ALWAYS find a need for those, a trash bag or two for wet and sandy beach towels (and then it’s great to pack sandy swimsuits in at the end of your cruise) and clothespins can be used to secure the curtains in your room, hang up wet clothes or secure your beach towel to your beach chair!  If you have littles that are used to sleeping with white noise – or tend to be lighter sleepers – I also recommend bringing a portable sound machine with you, too!  These are just some of the items that remain in my suitcase so that I always have them ready for our next adventure with Captain Mickey!  Certainly not necessities, but definitely make our trips a tad bit easier!

Rest assured, if you do happen to forget anything, the onboard shops will have you covered!  Wishing you the most magical and memorable adventure at sea EVER!

    Happy Sailing!
