Dear Moms Panel, we are traveling on our first cruise to celebrate our daughters 13th birthday on the Fantasty June 2 2012. She is our only child and we realize there are a lot of activities for teens. Will she be grouped with others so she is not alone?

    Hi Trudie,

Congratulations on your first Disney cruise.  How exciting! What a fantastic way to celebrate such an important milestone in a young girl's life.  Your princess is going to have so much fun!

Edge is a fantastic tweens only club, where she'll be able to play games, watch movies, listen to music and participate in organized group activities.  Make sure that she visits Edge on the first evening of the cruise.  The youth counselors are excellent at getting the kids to feel comfortable by hosting "get to know each other" type activities.  Remember, a lot of the teen Guests are traveling without other kids, but it won't stay that way for long.  My kids, ages 11 and 14, enjoyed Edge on the Disney Fantasy not very long ago.  They ended up exchanging email and Skype addresses with kids from England and Hawaii.  They are in contact with these kids on Facebook too.  Don't worry, she's going to have a blast!

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Bon voyage Trudie!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
