Dear Panel, My family and I are planning to travel to Disney for the first time this summer from 6/30-7/3 with a 2 year old and a 6 year old. My question is about the Quick Service Dining plan. Is there a real savings by using a dining plan?

    Hello, April,

In all honesty, I can answer your question with the answer possibly. We have used the Disney Dining Plan a handful of times and through careful planning we saved several hundred dollars each time.  However, I know that isn't always the case.

To see actual dollar amounts of how the plan can possibly work both well and not so well, I'd do an internet search for two articles by Stacey Lantz:  1) Disney Dining Plan:  Exposed and 2) Could the Disney Dining Plan Save You Money? These articles should offer you a better way of seeing if the dining plans would be beneficial for your family.

I also really like www.disneyfoodblog.com; just do a search for best deals. You'll find a good selection of articles on some of the better deals to maximize your dollars best on the Disney Dining Plans.

By the way, I'm not sure if you knew this but the Disney Dining Plan is for guests over the age of 3; you won't be able to purchase it for your 2 year old, but s/he will be able to share from an adult plate at no charge.  You may also purchase a meal from the menu, and the price will be added to your bill.

Thank you for the question; please let us know if we can help further.
