Dear Moms, We visit once a year. Our yougest who is Autistic is 4. We want him to enjoy Disney as much as all. There is a long list of issues,(not always apparent), waiting, noises, bright lines etc. Any suggestions? We will be there in the spring.

I would suggest noise cancelling headphones an IPod/cd player anything that plays music.  If there is a favorite piece of music, or group he loves to hear, like the Wiggles or classical music anything that brings him his own sense of calmness.  I would practice with him at home wearing head phones and listening to music or ocean waves, whatever it is and then graduate to a mall.  Purchase his own cool shades to wear as well, this will help when the anxiety hits in the park.  I would suggest the first time he sees the fireworks take him to the beach at the Grand Floridian.  The music is barely audible but the visual fireworks are quite beautiful.  This will allow him to experience the fireworks but not be too overwhelmed.  The headphones will work for noise especially during the fireworks if you are in the park.
