Dear moms, On our last day at WDW, our flight will leave at 5:30 PM. I know we will need to leave for the airport three hours prior. It is worth it to have a park pass that day? Our travel agent had suggested we go to Downtown Disney that day. Thoughts?

    Hi Melanie,

We often schedule our departing flight for later in the evening. This gives us a chance to enjoy a few more hours at Disney World before returning to the real world. If you already have a package or annual pass that would allow you entry into a park for that day, I would start out early to your favorite park and give your favorite attraction another spin. If you would need to purchase an additional day for your pass, I would not do that for the last day as you will not be able to get a full day for your money. If you are planning on using Magical Express to return to the airport, the shuttle will pick you up between two to three hours before your flight leaves. This means that you will only have until approximately 2:30 before the shuttle arrives.

A great option is to head over to Downtown Disney for some last minute shopping or an early lunch. We have also ventured to one of the miniature golf locations for 18 holes or even 36.  Other options for that last few hours is to relax at the pool or we even enjoy visiting another Disney resort or two. This is a great way to see a new location that you may want to stay in for your next trip. Hope one of these options helps you enjoy your last few hours at the most magical place.

    Have a great time!
