We are going to my 15 dd's volleyball tourney at ESPN Sports complex in June. We have 2 other dds ages 12 & 9. Do we need 2 rooms since there are 5 of us? What are the cheapest hotel options without camping?

    Katie:

Although, technically, your family of five would qualify for a room at Port Orleans Riverside in its Alligator Bayou section, its trundle bed may not be the best sleeping option for a 9-year-old.  Some of the rooms have quality mattresses on the trundles but others have sleeping mats that are simply foam mats.

Two rooms at one of the Value Resorts remains your most economical option, even over the Deluxe resorts that sleep 5 with a daybed (the most economical being a Garden View room at The Contemporary), but for just a few dollars more, you could opt for a Family Suite at the All-Star Music resort.  It offers two bathrooms (a necessity with three daughters), just like the two bedroom option but will also provide a small kitchenette with a microwave and mini-fridge.  At the very least, these appliances can help you eliminate the cost of breakfast, and if you're savvy, could even provide dinner of microwave lasagna!

Best of all, the All-Star properties are on the bus route for the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.  Not every resort is served by bus transportation to WWOS, so if you don't have a car, or if the car needs to stay at the Complex, you have other transportation options.

Good luck with the volleyball tournament!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
