For DDP's, how are you able to determine how many credits a meal will cost you? I see some places note 2 credits for a meal vs 1 credit. Example: 1 credit for a bowl of soup vs. 2 credits for a steak sandwich with a side of fries? Thanks

Hi Lauren!  That is such a good question, the Disney Dining plan can be very confusing.

Credit usages are based on the type of restaurant you are dining at, not the item you order off of the menu other than your Snack Credit.  Disney Dining Plan credits are broken down into Snack Credits, Quick Service Meal Credits and Table Service Credits.  All snacks on the Disney Dining Plan are 1 credit per treat.  Quick Service Meals are restaurants where you go to the window or counter, order your meal and seat yourself.  All Quick Service Restaurants are 1 Quick Service Credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Table Service Meals are where you are seated and have a waiter/waitress taking your order and bringing your food to you.  Table Service Meals are either 1 Disney Dining Table Service Credit or 2 Table Service Credits depending on where you dine, not what you order.  The restaurants that require 2 Table Service Credits per person are considered Signature Dining Experiences.  I am going to link to a really great brochure on the Disney Dining Plan where you can find every restaurant on the plan and what type of credit is required to dine there.  The restaurants that have a small 2 next to them on the brochure are the places that require 2 credits per person to eat there.

Thanks for asking your question here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  If you have any other questions about the Disney Dining Plan or another aspect of your Walt Disney World vacation, please let me know.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
