For the DDP, my understanding is that it expires at midnight. Does this mean it expires at 12:01 AM on the date of checkout? Or does this mean it expires at 11:59 PM? I am wondering if I would be able to use my dining credit before the airport for bfast!

    Welcome to planDisney, Samantha!

You've asked a great question about one of my favorite elements of a visit to Walt Disney World: Disney Dining Plans!

Samantha, you'll be pleased to know that your remaining snacks and meals on your plan will expire at midnight after you check out. So your plan to use a Dining Plan meal for a pre-morning flight home on that last day is a smart one. We do something similar on almost every Dining Plan trip!

When we visit WDW using a Dining Plan, we map out the best way to utilize all of our snacks and meals, making sure we squeeze the last drop of delicious dining dollars out of that plan. We often arrive late enough that first day or night that we can't use one or both of our meals for the day. The plus side of this is that's the perfect way to ensure that we have a meal or two left for the day of departure--perfect when we have a later flight.

Samantha, should you find yourself with some snacks to use up as well, some of my favorite places to do that include uniquely Walt Disney World items that will make it back home--even after being with me at 30,000 feet for a bit. I'll bring a couple of gallon-sized plastic zipper-close bags to help keep items fresh and will ask the Cast Member helping me if they have any little gift boxes they can put these treasures in--just to help keep them from getting crushed.

Bayview Gifts at Disney's Contemporary Resort often offers fudge, gourmet chocolates, and freshly-baked cookies in their adorable confectionary case. The Mara at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge carries wonderful muffins, pastries, and cookies. At BoardWalk Deli, you might find delicious banana bread slices, danish, and other pastries that are sure to be a sweet treat the morning after you wake up at home. There are many locations that feature fantastic snacks as well, so be sure to look at menus at locations on the last day or so of your trip. When I do, those goodies brighten my first day back every time.

Samantha, check to see which breakfast locations are at your hotel or, if you have a little extra time, at a nearby hotel or even Disney Springs. You're sure to find one last way to make that delectable Disney Dining Plan cap off your most magical stay deliciously.

As you think of additional planning questions, be sure to send them our way. We love to help!
