Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Ellen. I'm so glad you stopped by! It sounds like you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. How wonderful! It's the very best kind, if you ask me.
You must have one of the
dining plans for your trip. That's so great! I'm a big fan of the dining plans because they add convenience and flexibility to my family's Disney vacations. As a mom of three, I need all the convenience and flexibility I can get! I also love that the dining plans give our Disney vacations an all-inclusive "feel." All the more reason to enjoy all those delicious dining plan snack options! You ask a good question about dining plan eligible snack items. Unfortunately, there's not a comprehensive list of everything that qualifies as a snack with a dining plan. I think the reason is that it would be too long a list! What I can tell you is that dining plan snacks can be found at Quick-Service restaurants, most outdoor carts, and even some merchandise locations. An eligible snack is single serving and can include popcorn, frozen ice cream novelty, Mickey soft pretzel (my favorite!), fresh fruit, bagged snack, beverages, and even sides like french fries. And that's just to name a few!
One way to preview eligible snacks is using the
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering feature on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. I'm in Pennsylvania at the moment and unfortunately not at the Walt Disney World Resort, but if I hop on the My Disney Experience mobile app, tap the little plus sign icon at the bottom of the screen, tap 'Order Food,' and then select a dining location from the list, I can view the items at that location that qualify as an eligible snack item. Those items have a notation that says, "Qualifies as a Snack." In a few taps, I've seen that a cup of New England Clam Chowder at Columbia Harbour House, an Apple Pie Gelato Shake at Connections Eatery, a Raspberry Lunch Box Tart at Woody's Lunch Box, and Metkayina Mousse at Satu'li Canteen all qualify as eligible snacks with a dining plan! Yum!
When you're at the Walt Disney World Resort, you'll know an item is an eligible snack because it will have a purple and white dining plan logo next to it on the menu. You can't miss it!
I hope this was helpful, Ellen. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
