Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Leanne. Thanks for visiting us with your question.
Leanne, the
Disney Dining Plan is such a fan favorite. I know my family and I have used the program many times on past trips to
Walt Disney World and have thoroughly enjoyed it. There's something really magical about having all aspects of a Walt Disney World vacation paid for ahead of time. It truly allows even us adults to be submersed in the magic.
Here at planDisney, we are a group of regular Guests who love sharing our knowledge and expertise on how to plan really amazing vacations to Disney destinations. If you need a dining recommendation for a special dinner on your vacation, I've got you covered. If you'd like to know the best way to spend a Disney day, I can share my tried and true itinerary. However, because we are Guests ourselves, we aren't privy to behind-the-scenes knowledge like when the Disney Dining Plan might be returning. We are all in the same boat of just watching and waiting. The good news is that the
Disney Parks Blog did confirm that they've heard the outcry of love and support for the Disney Dining Plan and reassured us that they do have plans to eventually bring it back. However, that was the last update that we've received.
If the Disney Dining Plan returns before your vacation in May, Leanne, I am certain you'll be able to add it to your existing Walt Disney World vacation package. Previously, Guests had up to 48 hours prior to their check-in day to add it on and I am certain it will be similar to this again.
If you'd like to budget a little bit for dining at Walt Disney World, you can take a look at menus of places you might be interested in eating to get a roundabout figure on what you are looking at spending. Then, you could always put that amount on a
Disney Gift Card and use that to pay for food, drinks and snacks while on vacation. I like using Disney Gift Cards in that way because the money is already taken out of your bank account and has to be used for something at Walt Disney World. It makes it a little bit easier to say yes to that Mickey pretzel when it's been budgeted and accounted for.
I have my fingers crossed the Disney Dining Plan will return sooner rather than later, Leanne. If you have any other questions as you finalize plans for your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Have fun!
Jackie H.
