DDP? Plan all along was to add DDP to our DVC res. after looking at prices for the meals planned inc character meals not sure its best. It works out to be equal minus the snacks. Then it seems to be a deal if we eat snacks every day. Suggestions? HELP!

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for help with your travel planning!

I believe that whether the Disney Dining Plan is right for your family is unique to your family. I think that you're absolutely on the right track by considering where you plan to eat, and then adding up the cost of your food per day and comparing it to the daily cost of the Disney Dining Plan. A great website to help you do this is allears.net, which has recent dining menus with prices in their dining section.

For your family, you mentioned that the value comes in eating snacks each day. Therefore, you should consider if eating snacks each day is something that you want to do, or that you will do. If you think that you won't eat snacks each day, it may not make sense for your family to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, but if you will eat snacks each day, then it does. If you might not eat snacks each day, you could consider using your snack credits on the last day of your trip to stock up on non-perishable snacks for the trip home. Another consideration is that some people enjoy the convenience of the Disney Dining Plan in that all meals are paid for before your vacation. If you enjoy having everything paid for ahead of time, this might be a reason to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.

If you do decide to add the Disney Dining Plan to your Disney Vacation Club reservation, the best way to do this is by calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800. Please be sure to do this at least 48 hours before your vacation begins.

I hope this helps with your decision regarding the Disney Dining Plan, Lisa. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
