to DDP or not to? My son is 10, if I dont do DDP can he order off kids menu and we pay kids menu price? He would never eat a full adult portion so thinking DDP is not worth it for us if he can orders kids meal without disney dining plan? please advise..

Hi April, the cast members at the restaurants are usually pretty flexible when it comes to children who are just turning the age to adult dining.  My daughter is also not a big eater so when we do the dining plan, we typically share an adult meal or if we are at a restaurant where she doesn't particularly care for what is served on the adult menu, they have offered to create a big kids meal out of items you can find on the kids menu along with some veggies from the adult menu.

As far as whether or not to purchase the dining plan, the way I decide is, I plan all my meals out along the approximate price of the meals (you can find most of this information on allears.net), then I determine what the dining plan would cost us and if it's cheaper, I go with the dining plan, if not, I budget my dining money on a Disney gift card.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions!  Diane
