We got the ddp for our first trip to disney world this June. I understand that my 2 yo can eat for free at the buffets, but how would it work if we go to a quick serve or table service restaurant?

Hi Debi! How exciting that your first vacation to Disney is only a few months away! Be sure to get some "1st Visit" buttons when you arrive, so that everyone will know what a special trip this is for you.

You are correct that your 2 year old can enjoy any of the items at the buffet restaurants for free. Children under the age of three also eat for free at meals that are served family style and are all you care to eat. You can also share your meal with your child at both counter service and table service restaurants for no added fee.

On our last trip, my daughter was 2 1/2, and we were on the dining plan. We ate at a lot of character meals, which my daughter enjoyed for free. When dining at counter service and table service restaurants where we ordered from a menu, I found the portions to be large enough to share my meal with her most of the time.

If you choose to order your 2 year old something from the children's menu, you would have to pay for it out of pocket. We did order from the child's menu a few times during our trip. When you order, just let the cast member know that you are using the meal plan on your meals, and they will ring up the kid's meal separately.

Have a great time during your first visit to Disney World!
